The Sri Lankan elephant is one of the three recognized subspecies of the Asian elephants and native to Sri Lanka. Elephants love deeply and are passionate about their life.
After visiting Sri Lanka, I have developed affection for elephants. What I love most about them, their family units and the affection among the family. It is very interesting to watch.
These elephants are playful and fun when they are in water, and hug trunks when they meet each other.
The mothers are so protective of the babies and spend all day teaching and loving them. It is fun to watch that baby elephant who doesn't want to go into water and the mother that keeps on pushing him into the water.
When we went to the river where elephants bath and watched a wonderful moving scene of a juvenile elephant firing water from its trunk to keep cool.
